In Greek mythology, Icarus was a boy who — when granted wings of feathers and wax by his father Daedalus — flew too close to the sun, melting his wings and sending him spiraling to his death; the story is often told warn against excessive curiosity (or more often, hubris). My intention of naming this initiative after Icarus is not to suggest that it is the pursuit of a fiery death — I try and avoid that as often as possible — but instead to pay homage to Icarus’ curiosity.

The Icarus Project will be a compilation of my “curiosity conversations” (as Hollywood producer Brian Grazer refers to them) through my four years of college. I’ve been gifted the chance to meet and even converse with some brilliant and prominent people so far, and I’m constantly trying to set up appointments and conversations with these individuals. I’ve been more cognizant of trying to attend all presentations and speaker events that I can, and reaching out to people whose work I find most interesting.
