About Me

I am Director of Research at Altos Ventures, where I help lead our AI investing efforts and collaborate with portfolio companies on a range of technical initiatives, like implementing RAG-based models, systematic evaluations, and finetuned models. I’m crafting an AI playbook aimed at building the next generation of software companies — focusing not only on advanced technical architectures, but also on cultivating the organizational structures and cultures essential for success.

I also guest lecture at Stanford, sharing insights on integrating AI into business, most recently for acclaimed former NY Times editor Glenn Kramon’s “Winning Writing” course.

My previous life was in quantitative finance, where I built machine learning and data science tools for fundamental equity teams. I have an MBA from Stanford and studied math and CS at Princeton — I actually started out in imperial Russian history, but that’s a story for another time…
